Indy Car Class Rules

This class will be run at 18 volts.

• Chassis – Aurora T Jet and Wizard WIZJET only. Also, you can peen/reem the holes in chassis.

• Top plate - trimming of the top plate rails is allowed but only to the level of the top surface of the gear plate. Rails must remain entirely under the gear plate clip. Matching top plate only allowed in this class. Also, you can peen/reem the holes in the top plate.

• Gears – Stock or stock replacement gears only which include arm pinion, idler, drive, and crown including CNC cut gears.  (Shimming of rear crown gear permitted). The minimum crown gear diameter shall be .300. All gears shall not be beveled or otherwise altered (chamfered, lightened, or relieved).

• Pinion gear- Stock 9 tooth only.

• Armatures – Aurora, OS3 Typhoon and Dash 16 ohm minimum.  Balancing and truing permitted. No rewinds or de-winds allowed. Maximum spacing of .020 shims between the arm and the bottom of the top plate only.

• Magnets – Stock Aurora  Green/Orange, Green/White, Black/Black, or Black/ Black w white stripe only! One Stop OS3 Red Dragon magnets are also allowed in this class. These are the only magnets allowed. Shims allowed – non-ferrous material only, no painting of magnets allowed)

• Brushes – copper/carbon composite only.  Thunder brushes, Wizzard, BSRT, Slottech, Model Motoring, etc. NO SILVER BRUSHES. You can cut an x or a single V-channel to brush bottom to keep them from spinning.

• Pickup Shoes - O.E.M. stock pick up shoes and similar T-Jet replacements such as BSRT, DASH, American Line, Wizzard or Slot Tech. - allowed (no ski shoes allowed). The range of travel may be limited.

• Pickup Springs - original OEM, Aurora, American Line, BSRT (t-jet springs only), Dr. Oogan, Wizzard or Champ.

• Front Ends - Must use the upper truck, Indy Car hole for the front axle. Rims must be Indy Car style in plastic, nylon, or delrin. Double flanged rims are allowed.  NO WEIGHTED FRONT ENDS OR BRASS FRONT WHEELS IN THIS CLASS. The FLR Indy independent front ends are legal for this class. No one off or modified front ends allowed. Front tires, minimum ,420 diameter.

• Rear tires and rims - Only original or aftermarket Indy Car style single or double flange rims designed to be used with slip on tires.  Rims can only be made of plastic, nylon or delrin. Rear tire size, minimum .450 diameter. No weighted hubs allowed.

• Axles – The axle length must not exceed 1 5/16” (1.312”).  Any axle material may be used, i.e. steel, drill rod, brass, tungsten, stainless steel.   The axle’s diameter must not exceed .065 inch. You can use spacers inside and outside of the tub on the rear axle.

• Guide pin – stock or any commercial readily available plastic or delrin T-Jet guide pin

• Maximum width 1 5/16” (1.312”)

• All 4 tires must touch and roll

• Body – Any injection molded plastic or cast resin Indy Car style body may be used. Bodies may be lowered and carved out to lighten and lower as long as they retain the look of an Indy Car body. Ex. If the body you are using is manufactured with exhaust pipes,drivers head etc. they must be intact. If they break off they may be repaired or replaced.

One of a kind, custom, or home-brew parts are not permitted.
