Open Dirt Late Model

This class will be run at 18 volts

• Chassis – Any T-Jet style. TFX NOT LEGAL!!! Also, you can peen/reem the holes in the chassis.

• Top plate – Matching. Must be the same manufacturer as tub. Trimming of the top plate rails for body clearance will be allowed and only to the level of the top surface of the gear plate. Must remain under the top plate clip. Also, you can peen/reem the holes in the top plate.

• Gears – Any readily available

• Crown Gear – Any readily available.  Gear may be shimmed for proper spacing. Crown may be trimmed to .300 diameter minimum.

• Armatures – Any pancake style Armature is legal. Maximum spacing of .020 shims between the arm and the bottom of the top plate only.

• Magnets – T- Dash Compression-Molded Level 6 magnets or any magnet of the same or lesser strength. May be matched.

• Brushes – Any readily available

• Pickup Shoes - Any readily available.  The range of travel may be limited.

• Pickup Springs – Any pick-up springs are allowed.  May be cut, squished or stretched.

• Front end – .188 or .170 delrin or aluminum rear press on rims.  You may shim the front wheels to prevent side-to-side movement and bring the max width to 1.3125. No Brass or independent front ends allowed.

• Front tires – Any wide.  The total diameter, including tire and rim, must be .333 or taller.

• Rear tires and rims – .250 diameter aluminum or delrin wide rear wheels for Dash wide E slip on tires only. You may shim the rear wheels to prevent side to side movement. and bring the  wheels out to max width of 1.3125.

• Axles -  Any readily available solid or hollow material is allowed.  Max diameter is .065.  Max axle length is 1.3125. You can use spacers inside and outside of the tub on the rear axle.

• Guide pin – stock or any commercial readily available plastic or delrin T-Jet guide pin.

• The maximum allowable width is 1.3125 1 5/16”

• All 4 tires must touch and roll.

• Body - Any plastic or resin MODERN DIRT LATE MODEL.  NO LEXAN Bodies allowed.  Body may be lightened and lowered.  Wheel wells may be enlarged. No trimming of the body for the purpose of going around the top plate. Must run the body the way it was made. EX. If the body was made to rest on top of the top plate it must be run that way. If it was made so that the top plate sits level with the body, That is legal. If body legality is questioned, you must show proof it was made to fit that way. The body can not sit any lower than the top of the gear plate.

One of a kind, custom, or home-brew parts are not permitted.
